Family Update 25/11/13

As usual we are busy around here, we are getting ready for Dylan's birthday his week and we had a fun last week! The kids both have colds and temperatures today, they are snuggled up in their pjs and are watching TV to try to get better... I had to add some photos from the last week...

Lauren looked really cute on Sunday before we headed out, I can't believe how grown up she looks now!

and so pretty too...

Dylan's God mother came to visit as it's his birthday next week and she can't visit then, she baked him a skateboard cake which went down very nicely! He loved it! She knows him so well...

He loves his tech decks and flix tricks! He loves all things skateboard and bmx these days! If he isn't on a skateboard or bike, then he is playing with them. Here he is all cuddled up in his jammies playing today...

Lauren took her first 'selfie' it was adorable!! Even if you can see all mommies grey hairs and no make up!! ( ps I am getting my hair done this weekend!)

The kids watched a movie in Lauren's room the other night, when I went upstairs this is what I found, they were all snuggled up together cosy and warm in her little bed. It makes your heart warm to see your children be friends! They had a great time watching the movie, when we lifted Dylan into his own bed they were upset to be parted! It was too cute!

So this weekend Dylan will be 9 years old! I honestly cannot believe how that actually happened. Not only is he going to be 9 he also doesn't want a party, and he wants money as his birthday present this year! I'm quite sad that he is growing up really. I'm going to organise a little tea party for him with his Grandparents, and I'm getting him a big balloon and a banner and a lovely cake! He might not want a party, but he must have cake!!

How does the time fly by so fast!

Lots of fun days coming up soon...

Lauren's First Feis

On Sunday Lauren had her first Feis (Irish dancing competition) she started Irish dancing about two months ago and she has really enjoyed it! So this was her first time to showcase her new skills. The first Feis is all about building confidence they mostly can't follow the steps and the speed, but to get them up on the stage in front of everyone smiling and taking part is a big thing. Lauren did amazingly, she was excited and having a great time and so confident. Her posture was very good and she did really well.

She danced 6 dances and she was placed 4th or 5th out of about 15 dancers in 4 of her dances. I think that is pretty amazing for a little girl who only started dancing in September! She was delighted and so proud of herself when she heard her name and number being called out by her teacher.  We were all so proud of her too!

Showing off her first lot of medals! Look at that proud little face...

Her big brother was so proud of her it was adorable

Her teacher said to watch out for these dancers next year, and these are the dancers of the future. I have a funny feeling Lauren will be great at this, she is so dainty and prim and proper! Either way we are just happy that she is taking part in something that she enjoys and is making her happy, and she is making lots of nice friends!

Well Done Lauren!

Family update 7/11/13

Life lately has been busy busy, but I can remember it all with my trusty camera phone by my side! I am going to do a camera phone photo drop today so I don't forget the little things we do around here everyday!

Dylan reading baby sister a story, she loves when he reads to her and listens to every word. I love that he does this, he loves her!

I love when she looks serene after she falls asleep, just precious...

When the kids were away, Daddy and I had a lazy day and we brewed some fresh coffee and had yummy cakes! Heaven!!

We had a cinema day last weekend with friends and finally saw 'Planes' Lauren loved posing for her photo...

Dylan didn't!

I haven't added any pictures of Ambrose recently, he is nuts and spends time in very odd places, but he is an absolute cutie... Also don't know if I ever mentioned on the blog that he is now a boy and not an 'Amber' as we previously thought! He also turned 2 this week!

I loved my manicure from last week!

We watch cartoons on a rainy day, and I had to capture this picture! I just loved when Lauren had her feet up relaxing, thought it was the cutest thing!

The Sam Maguire cup visited Dylan's school, Dublin were the all Ireland GAA champions again and the cup was doing the rounds of the school, Dylan was absolutely delighted with himself he got to hold the cup and meet the players!

Love this face when we popped into Starbucks for a coffee...  I mean look at it! He wanted to be out skateboarding and not siting with me having coffee!

Speaking of skateboarding, Dylan has taken up skating and he is really good and is thoroughly enjoying it! We took him to the skate park on Sunday when we had amazing weather last Sunday, he got to show off all his new skills...

Lauren loved playing in my wedding tiara, she was adorable, it's definitely weird to see your own little girl playing in something from your wedding! She loves to wear it...

So pretty...

Finally tonight Lauren lay down on my bed, she was upset because she couldn't remember what 'she wanted to tell Daddy,' she was utterly devastated that she 'forgot to remember' the poor little pet was so exhausted she fell asleep... told you she loved the tiara... priceless

The kids had a great few weeks, and I got to do my photo dump! Looking forward to another fun weekend coming up... Love autumn activities!

Halloween 2013

Halloween this year was so much fun! The kids loved it, it was also their mid term break and so they spent some time down with their Grandparents, o say they were spoiled rotten was definitely an understatement!

Lauren thoroughly enjoyed trick-or-treating this year! she had the biggest smile on her face as she ran from house to house! and Dylan even got to go to a few houses on his own which he really loved! We had some fireworks and some sparklers and they had the best night!

Dylan was a zombie skateboarder! and Lauren was a witch, she even put her own face paint on! she was absolutely adorable. Dylan was so creative, he had a broken skateboard as a prop and we put stuck on scars and blood all over him, he looked great!

Here are my little ghouls!

The Friday before was our dress rehearsal! i.e. it was the school Halloween party! They love getting dressed up every year! It is absolutely adorable!

We had to take some pictures of our neighbours amazing houses all decked out for the night! We met up with some friends to take the kids from house to house, the atmosphere was great. Then we went home to play with our sparklers and watch our mini fireworks show by Daddy! ( who didn't get a chance to get dressed up this year)

And of course I sort of dressed up..... The kids wanted to paint my face, I got a spider and a witches hat!

It was a great time, I love to watch the smiles on their little faces as they have fun during these holidays! The cutest thing happened, after we put up the Halloween decorations Lauren wanted to put up the Christmas tree. So the day after Halloween Lauren says to me ' Can we put up our decorations for Christmas today,' I had told her that when Halloween was over then it would be nearly time to put up the Christmas tree.... I guess she took me literally!

It was a lovely holiday and I was glad to spend it with my family... Also I really appreciative that my parents could take the kids for a visit for the few days and give them the most amazing time!

Derek and the kids did a great job on our pumpkin!

Happy Halloween

Halloween Decor 2013

We put up our decorations by accident last night!

We were planning on doing it during the week but we had two new decorations to put up and we ended up decorating a lot of the downstairs!
We still have more to do though , the kids will be here for Halloween this year but they may decide to stay down with Granny and Grandad yet, we will need to see closer to the time!
We have skeletons and spiders, Dracula, witches hats and brooms and and some pumpkin candles!

We are all set!
Almost....

Family update 11/10/13

So it's moving along into Autumn, the kids are settled back in their after school activities. Lauren is LOVING her Irish dancing, swimming..... eh not so much! Dylan on the other hand is flying through his classes. He is also loving being back at rugby.  It was so cute Lauren got her first pair of Irish dancing shoes, so she phoned Nanna to 'show'
her the new shoes and her dance! The innocence!!

Last weekend my parents came up for a visit, we took them out to breakfast and it was amazing! the food was great. Dylan had his friend to sleep over and they were up so late! Afterwards we went for a bike ride and to the park!

Dylan is really enjoying school this year, and Lauren is taking to it like a duck to water, here she is doing her first homework assignment, she is also playing with her etch-a-sketch ALL the time, she hasn't put it down since we got it for her!

As usual it's been quite busy around here! We are heading down to Waterford to visit my parents tomorrow for the weekend and we are all really looking forward to it. Lauren was all giggly and giddy at bed time! Dylan and I stayed up late to watch our movie for movie night! It won't be long until Lauren will be staying up to watch the movies too.....

Look at this little face..... my favourite boy!

Here's to a lovely family weekend!
