My target!

I have spent the last two years working very hard on my weight loss, I have to say it has never been easy, it has taken hard work and a lot of determination, but I am so happy that I have reached my target! I faltered at times and put weight back on, but in the end I made it! I've added some of my photos that I am proud of!

I reached my weight loss goals by working with my local Slimming World group, their support and encouragement was a lot of the reason I have reached my target!

I am so glad that I worked on my goals and I am proud of my achievement! Never give up, if you want it bad enough you will get there! I have so much more energy and a much more positive body image, and I am happy with myself!

Almost 30

I can't believe my 30th birthday bash is only a few days away! I've worked so hard to get thinner and healthier! I have tried pretty hard to lose my weight the last year. I still have a bit to go ,but today I could go in and buy a dress that I love without feeling huge in it!

I went to House of Fraser today with my friend and they provide you with a stylist and help you pick the perfect outfit! It was girl heaven!! I was trying on lots of dresses!  Finally I found THE ONE... I chose a cream and navy short peplum dress with some sequined detail at the waist. I was thinking of getting a nude pair of shoes to go with my dress, but the stylist suggested a red pair of shoes and a red clutch! I wasn't so sure but when she brought them to me, but when I tried them on I was sold!

I'm hoping to get another wear out of this outfit to my cousins wedding in England in a few months since I spent so much money on it! Plus I really believe in getting some wear out of the clothes you buy. I am really happy with my choice, so direct from the House od Fraser website....

Here's my dress...

and the shoes.....

I'm in love!
I've booked my spray tan for the night before and my nail girl is coming to
do my two week manicure after. I'm going to get her to do a red colour the same as my shoes and clutch.  I'm also going to go a bit wild and treat myself to some new hair extensions!!
I've been growing my hair for ages and would live to thicken it up and get it more glamorous! So I thought I would treat myself! I'm proud of myself for losing the weight for my 30th which was my deadline!

I'm really looking forward to the occasion and I'm
glad Derek talked me into having a get together! We hired a sitter through a company so that all our friends and family could be there, usually somebody needs to be on kiddie duty. I'm happy with the service they provide and the company is very professional, so luckily I have no worries... they are very expensive, but it is very much worth it, the children will be in bed so at least I know they will be well looked after! I am really looking forward to the night. This is kind of my big reveal too, as not a lot of people have seen how much weight I've lost. I am proud of my achievement, because it is hard to lose weight...

So let the countdown begin...

Does the tooth fairy come to adults?

Well, I was told a few years ago that I would eventually need at least one of my wisdom teeth out. Since I am terrified of the thought of a general anesthetic, I quickly pushed the possibility to the back of my mind. Sadly the day has arrived, my wisdom tooth is coming up! I am the proud owner of a hole in my gum!! And boy does it hurt, my regular dentist has sent me to an oral maxiofacial surgeon.

My consultant has told me that it not only has to come out, but that she would not even consider the procedure without a general anesthetic. It is an impacted wisdom tooth, she will have to open my gum, break the tooth into pieces and extract it. If that isn't glamorous enough, she says that in every case of impacted wisdom tooth extraction there is a risk of loss of feeling in the lip, but in my case it is a very real risk. She showed me on my x-ray where the tooth is laying, and I could see for myself how close it was to the nerve. She said I will need to take a week off work. I know some people who've had the procedure and they've only needed a few days off, so I'm really super scared now!

I am trying to put the thought of the general anesthetic to the back of my mind, and I'm not allowing myself to think about what they will actually do to me once I am out. Then there is the worrying about how I will feel when I come around after the surgery, and the dread of the pain I will be in! needless to say I am an absolute nervous wreck! I've never had a general anesthetic in my adult life, I've had a few as a child, but I don't remember any of those, thank god!

So Derek has booked the days off work to take care of me, my mum is on babysitting duty, all that's left is for me to actually go through with the surgery and not to run screaming from the country! I know that I have to get it out, I'm in absolute agony, it's constantly getting infected and I just want it OUT!!

So in other news,  I've lost a total of 6lbs in the last two weeks, I've cut out carbs and I'm doing my best! It is so hard though. Although I haven't been as good as possible over the past few days! I will get back on track from now on!

The kids are doing great, we went out to the adventure play place today with my mum, and they had a great time. It's great being back home, they love being able to see their Grandparents whenever they like!

So that's it for now.. oww ....

Happy New Year

I suppose this is the time of year to make those resolutions! I think resolutions are the promises you make to yourself... most of the time they are empty promises. This year though I'm going to make my resolution, and stick to it - I have only the one. It's obvious that I hope to be a better person or a better mother, or take up new things. I don't need to make a promise to myself to do those. But this year I WILL lose weight. I am slowly creeping up the scales since I had Lauren. There's no excuse. I just need to set myself the goal! so here I go...

'I want to be a stone lighter by the summer.... by this time next year, I want to be at my target weight.'

So that is a realistic target, a stone to start with. I'm heading back to the gym, and cutting out the junk, I can do it! so here goes.... I hope I can get there...

Wishing all of you a very Happy New Year! Looking forward to seeing what 2011 brings. I hope it will be a happy and healthy year for us all.....
