Lauren's Birthday Party

Today we held Lauren's third birthday party. It was really special, Lauren loved every minute of it and she was so lucky to get really lovely gifts! She woke up this morning as the birthday princess, and had a lovely big smile, and she couldn't wait to put on her birthday dress. We were looking forward to seeing our family and friends. I wanted to get lots of pictures before all the guests arrived.. I got some lovely photos and I was really happy with how everything turned out...

Fit for a princess...

We call Lauren 'our little Princess,' and so we decided to go with that theme this year, a party 'fit for a princess' Lauren is in love with anything princess these days, and there is nothing like watching your little girl twirling around pretending to be a princess. So I wanted to give her a little piece of princess heaven...

She picked out these invitations

This was the cake we found online, and I had my friend make a version of it, she has her own couture cake business and I think she is amazing, and I now get her to make all of my cakes!

I'm delighted with how it turned out, it really is perfect. She sent me these pictures the day before we picked the cake up and I giggled like a little girl, I think I got more excited about the princess cake!

We are going to have beautiful banners, and happy birthday signs and pink voile and bows and balloons, and Lauren  will love it all...

She picked out these little party bags for her cousins (we are having family only this year) She couldn't decide on Tinkerbell or Rapunzel - so we had to get both of course!

For the food we are doing a grown up lunch and a little goodies table- with lots of yummy goodies, and of course the cake in the centre!

And of course every little princess needs a special dress, and Lauren has her beautiful silk dress with with little flowers and a satin ribbon. We got her little tights and gorgeous party shoes... she will be a little princess for the day...

And now she is is officially three, and I can't believe it. I am amazed at how fast the time flies..... I want to have so many wonderful memories for her to look back on, so I hope she will see the photos of her princess party and know how much we loved her and wanted her to be our little princess forever.....

We Love You little Princess
Always...

Lots of Lazing...

This is pretty much how this day went.. Lazing in pyjamas, chilling out and watching tv, I caught up on my blog, and read other blogs that I love! and lots of the following...

Making lots of drinks
Making jigsaws
colouring
Even Amber was in a lazy mood

I ran around after everyone fetching drinks,  trying to keep my recovering patient occupied, and his little sister from feeling left out.

Dylan seemed so much better today, the last two days he was very sore and needed his painkillers. He was on two different painkillers, and today thankfully he only needed one mild one. He is doing so much better, it's great to see him on the mend. I am so happy he is feeling better, we take him back to the hospital in two weeks. The doctor put on a back slab during his operation, which means that the top of the cast is soft. This is to allow for swelling as he has stitches, and they will put a full cast on when he goes back in for his review appointment.

I am a tired Momma today! Now it's time for bed yaay! I think I'll sleep tonight....

Our Wedding Cake

Today I am linking up with Britt over at 'The Magnolia Pair,' today she is hosting a wedding cake link up...

I am really excited to share today! I loved our cake, to me it was exactly what we wanted, it was elegant and tied the theme of our wedding together perfectly. The theme of our wedding was 'pink roses' I wanted the cake to reflect that, I had pink roses for my bouquet with a little diamante in each rose, I had little pink crystals on my dress too, and my bridesmaids wore pink and also had roses. I also had pink petals on each table, and our cake had pink roses too! I wanted the perfect shade of pink, I wanted the roses on our cake to be the same shade of pink as my bridesmaids dresses.

We were lucky enough to have one of the top wedding cake designers in Ireland, who happen to be very dear friends of my husband's family, and they were guests at our wedding. They did a truly amazing job, the cake was delicious- The bottom layer was chocolate biscuit cake, the middle layer was sponge and the top layer was traditional wedding cake!

Sadly our laptop crashed last year and the photos of our wedding were on it, and so I do have some photos, but the quality isn't as good as I would like, but you get the idea! I was delighted with our beautiful cake...

So I can't wait to see all the other beautiful cakes, the cake is so important as it ties in the whole theme of the wedding! It's lovely to look back and remember....
