Visit to Santa 2016

We visited Santa today, but unfortunately it was only one for Santa this year, but Dylan did still oblige me with a photo.

Lauren all set in her Christmas reindeer jumper

very exiting

Lauren truly delighted to see Santa

We had a great time visiting Santa today, although a little bittersweet for me with only one going to visit. I am going to fully enjoy every last year that Lauren likes to go, as it just goes by so quickly. It is so magical to see her face in awe and delight when she sees Santa. Christmas is so magical when they are small. I still make it magical for Dylan, and it is always special when we are together.

Dylans 11th birthday

Today was Dylan's 11th birthday! I can hardly believe that I am typing this, the last year has brought him into a pre teen rather than a little boy. He no longer believes in Santa, and he is so much more grown up, but in other ways he is still so much my little boy. I just can't believe how fast these years have gone by. I need to treasure each snuggle I get, because they will become less frequent as the years go on. I also try and appreciate each photo he lets me snap- as it's proving more and more difficult to get him to take a picture!

On Sunday we took Dylan out with this good friends to see a movie and have some dinner out! They had a brilliant time , I love to see him so happy with al his friends!

For his birthday this year he was very clear that he didn't want any balloons or banners or presents, instead of 'wasting' the money, we could give it to him for his birthday so he could get his own present! So cash is what he got, and he was so lucky to get so many great vouchers from our friends and family! He was utterly spoiled!

But one thing I wasn't letting him away with was birthday cake! He got two cakes! One from Sonjia and the boys!

And a smarties ice-cream cake that I made!

The birthday boy

More than anything I wish I could slow down the years from passing, I still remember th first moment I laid eyes on him, all 8lvs 2oz of him, I waited so long for him to come, well it felt like forever. He was a treasure to all of us.

Genus growing into.a fine young man, he is living, kind and gentle and he would lay down his life for his sister. We are so incredibly proud of our wonderful son.

Happy birthday to the best son a mother could ever wish for, I know I'm  biased, but I don't care! He is THE BEST. We love you so much Dylan

All Aboard the Halloween Train

Today my friend and I took Lauren and her little boy to Rathwood to go on the Halloween train! They had a brilliant time! This year the theme was 'The Wizard of Oz,' and it was fantastic. Dylan was too old as it is recommended up to age 8, so it was perfect for Lauren and Matthew. First you go on a train ride through the grounds, then there is a walk through the forest to find the wicked witch!

 All aboard the Halloween Train!

After we went on the train, the kids got to pick their pumpkins and take it in their wheel barrow into the barn to carve it. Lauren picked the biggest pumpkin!

Inside the barn, Lauren wasn't very happy to see our name on the grave stone!!

Then it was time to carve our pumpkin, Dorothy and the Lion were only too happy to help us with this!

My favourite photo of the day!

The trip was absolutely fantastic, and it was well worth the hour drive for our visit! I would highly recommend the trip for all little kids! I was sad that Dylan has outgrown these trips, he's getting very grown up! But Lauren thoroughly enjoyed the day, as did I!

A Decade with Dylan

My baby boy, how have you already been in our lives a whole decade, when it only feels like yesterday that you arrived. We love you so much, from the minute I laid eyes on you I loved you with all of my heart and soul.

It has been the biggest privilege of my life to watch you grow up, and learn, and become who you are today.... I am eternally grateful that I was chosen to be your mother. Your Daddy would do anything for you, and spends hours playing football, video games and helping you with your homework. Your baby sister adores you, follows you everywhere, and loves you so much that she would do anything to make you laugh.

When I look back and see how much you've grown, it makes my heart swell with pride. Thank you for being you, my joy and love, my everything.....

These are my favourite photos of you, in random, unedited order... These make us smile when we look at them.  Your achievements, your challenges, your journey...

The day you were born, I became a Mommy.... At 5pm on the 30th Of November 2004,  weighing 8 lbs 2 oz, you came into our lives, and everything changed. For me, my centre of the world changed, you are my sun, my moon and my stars.....

We love you Dylan, and we are so proud of you

~ Happy 10th Birthday~
