Busy Autumn days

Lots has been going on around here the past while we've been busy busy, the seasons have changed and it is nice and autumnal again and it's starting to get cold. We love this time of year in our house, when we start decorating the house for Halloween, and carving the pumpkins, and looking forward to everything fun that the season has to offer. So on to the family news...

Dylan had his first away match with his rugby team, and they played great!

Although Dylan had a little knock, I was warned by the Dads that he would never live it down if I went running onto the pitch, so I was very calm watching eight boys stomping in rugby boots all over my muddy son. I said nothing but I can't say that I didn't hate it... He loved every minute of it and relived the moment over and over again all the way home.

Lauren was there looking adorable and shouting for her big brother, and generally being a great little cheerleader, she had to pose for some photos so she didn't feel left out!...
Love this photo
We went to visit my parents overnight this weekend, where we got some more amazing knitwear for Lauren which mum made her.... Isn't this outfit amazing?!
We also got a present of a bird watching kit with seeds, binoculars and a bird spotting book, they had so much fun watching the birds. Daddy Derek seemed to really enjoy it too, he was really excited for the children to see all the birds...
So we have a few days all to ourselves as the kids are visiting with my parents for a few days, since its their holiday week from school. They couldn't wait to visit with them... they've been counting down the days...
So Derek and I are going to have a date night compete with dinner and a movie this week, and we can't wait. Right now we have some goodies in the fridge and another episode of The walking dead to watch... I love snugly autumn nights in..

Dylan's first school mass

Last week was a big weekend for Dylan, he had his first mass with his class to start them on their journey to their first holy communion. They were given their candles during the ceremony, and we presented them for their first penance and first communion preparation. We had to place our hands on their shoulders and renew the vows we made at their christening. It was a really special mass and I was so proud of how well behaved Dylan and Lauren were!

Here's our little boy before his first school mass.

I can't believe how fast he's grown it doesn't seem so long ago when we were dressing him in his christening robe, now he's making his communion in a few months.... Time really is going by so fast. I was just saying the other day how grown up he's been getting, he's so nice to be around these days and helpful and he's great with his little sister I'm so proud of him!

Dress up days & rugby heroes

We had a really nice weekend, we just relaxed and had some fun. Derek took Dylan to the Leinster match in the Aviva stadium. It's great that he has the season tickets and can take the little man whenever he gets a chance, Dylan really loves to go along with his Dad. Lauren and I stayed home and had a girly afternoon, we watched cartoons and had some fun with friends.

It was a big weekend for Dylan as he had his very first rugby match! They were slaughtered by the other team, but my wonderful little son scored the one and only try for his team. We were so unbelievably proud of him! He was delighted with himself. They have only started training together so they will get better, but it will take a bit of time. I am just so happy that he has a sport that he loves to play! He seems to really shine at it and even if he wasn't great, as long as he's having fun that's all we care about!

Dylan at his first rugby match....

After the match we decided to go and play in the park. Lauren decided she wanted to wear a very special outfit! it was beyond cute... because some days you just need to dress head to toe in pink, with your tinkerbell outfit matched with funky spotted wellington boots! and only Lauren can rock this look so well!
and don't forget her best accessory.... Ballerina Bunny!
Too cute!

Derek and I had a lovely night out too, my friend insisted on sitting for us so we could go and see a movie, and it was heaven.... complete with chocolate and popcorn! It was a really nice weekend. I am particularly loving all the autumnal leaves that are starting to fall!

My 30th birthday part 2

Last Saturday I celebrated my 30th birthday with my friends and family in Dandelion bar and nightclub in Dublin city! Derek organised a cake and balloons! I enjoyed every minute of it. I felt so special.

My parents were at my party and they were so proud and happy, my Mom said to my Dad that this was the first party I had that she didn't organise! I suppose my16th, 18th and 21st were hosted by my parents! I guess at 30 they've finally realised I've grown up!
After the party we headed downstairs to the dance floor to have some drinks and dances! We certainly danced the night away! ( I'll spare my friends and I the embarrassment of adding those photos!!)

Here's some of the snaps from my party! Thanks everyone for coming!

With my dear husband who didn't leave my side all night....

My wonderful parents

My Dad is so funny, his pet hate is fake smiles in photographs, so he always tries to have a 'normal' face on, so he just ends up being grumpy! He's notorious for it.... honestly he did have a good time... HA!

Cutting my cake with my mommy!

My sisters-in- law Elaine and Orla

Sadly a few friends couldn't make it for various reasons and they've invited me out to dinner next week! They've booked Jamie Oliver's new restaurant and I can't wait to have a girlie night out... this is the longest amount of celebrations I've ever had for a birthday yet!

So that's it my 30th has been and gone another milestone in my life, I'm grateful for my family and friends that made my birthday so special and memorable! And of course thank you to my extra special and amazing husband Derek x

Here's to the next decade....

I'm 30!!!
