Lauren's Communion Day

This weekend we celebrated our precious daughter on her First Holy Communion. It may have been raining, but nothing could dampen her spirit!

After all of her hard work and preparation we were thrilled to see her enjoy her special day!

I wanted to have her little treats all set out for her when she got up.... which was 6 am!

Lauren's cake, her new watch and necklace and bracelet, her earrings from Manna Marina, her card, and of course some pretty pink roses!

A close up of her beautiful cake!

And the most special thing! my very own daughter is wearing my communion medal thst I worse for my first communion when I was 7 in 1990! This was so special to me that she chose to wear my medal. Dylan wore Derek's medal for his Confirmation, so it meant the world to me for Lauren to wear mine!

Lauren was so happy to wake up to her treats, she felt really special! (complete with crazy bed hair!)

I wanted to also add her beautiful invitations, we actually went for the same ones Dylan had in pink, as Lauren loved them so much!

Before we were ready for 'the dress' we had to be pampered! I organised hair and make up for me and hair for Lauren, she was delighted!

Showing off her beautiful hair and nails! And of vpurse her stunning dress and veil!

Showing off her pretty apron we got her to keep her dress clean! It said 'Communion princess' and her name and date of the big day!

Then we had some lovely photos, which had to be inside due to the rain!

Arriving at the church

The girls were led out in a procession together, the music and prayers were beautiful. You could see how much hard work and preparation had gone into every little detail.

We were so proud of her receiving her First Communion, it was amazing to see how grown up she has become.

It was actually a really special moment, after the ceremony we were invited to a reception downstairs, Lauren was delighted to see all of her friends there!

Then we got some photos of Lauren in the church

Then it was time to cut the cake with Daddy

The whole day was magical from start to finish. We are grateful for our wonderful daughter, and so thankful to our family for travelling to be with Lauren on her special day. Sadly Uncle Stephen and Auntie Siobhan and Uncle Gary couldn't be here as they live in England and China! but they were with us in spirit!

The next day Lauren was able to wear her dress to mass again and walking behind her to receive communion brought tears to my eyes! Then the four of us went for lunch together, our little family, celebrating our littlest member!

We are so proud of you Lauren,  we are proud of your hard work this year, and we are proud of you!

~ Congratulations on your First Holy Communion ~

Adam's Communion Day

Today we travelled to Dublin to celebrate our nephew Adam on his communion day! It was a really lovely day! they had balloon modelers there and the kids had so much fun making balloon shapes!

Lauren and I had way too much fun on the way home making faces in the car!

We finished off the day back home with cuddles!

After a costume change it was time to relax!

You may notice Dylan wasn't here with us today! Dylan had a really big match he couldn't miss, so he went to that and then spent the rest of the day with Nanna and Grandad! They won their match and everyone had a lovely day!
