School tour 2015

Today Dylan had his school tour, his class went to 'Causey farm' in Co. Meath, I was lucky enough to be invited on the tour to help the teachers supervise. It was brilliant and the staff were amazing, they took the kids off and we just went to the bog with them. We rode with them in the tractor singing songs! The kids got to the bog where they got to explore and jump in, it was hilarious! They were covered in mud and they all had huge smiles!

Dylan had so much fun, it was also great to see Dylan interacting with all of his school friends!

They all had a great time!

School Science Fair 2015

This week we had the school science fair, Lauren's class worked on turning cream into butter, and Dylan's class presented it. Dylan's class worked on the hover craft project. They all worked on some combined projects, the kids had a great time and the projects were really good. I got a few shots of the fair, but it was so busy and it was hard to get pictures with so many people.

Visit to Howth

Today we went for a walk int he pier in Howth, the kids brought their scooters to ride along the pier. It was so windy and hazy today, but it was still really beautiful.

Dylan loved the view...

We haven't been out to Howth since I was pregnant with Lauren, so here is my girl on the pier WITH me instead of IN my tummy! She thought this was amazing!

We had a really lovely time, afterwards we got bags of chips and had them at the pier. We all had a great day!

Dylan's Eye check up

We had Dylan's eye check up with the Orthoptist today, he has never been with this particular practitioner before.  She found everything to be normal with Dylan for his condition.  We figured this as we had specialist binocular vision testing done last year, and the results were very good. The only difference is she found his 3d vision to be normal, but the other consultant found him lacking in this area. I would imagine the specialist eye testing was more thorough in this area.

As Dylan is long sighted and astigmatic,  he will always need glasses. His performance with his glasses on was well above normal. I was really happy to confirm the previous ophthalmologists exam findings of how his eyes are working, to be correct.

He will return to his consultant Ophthalmologist later this year. I hope his eyes stabilise, and he can continue to function well with his glasses. He's great for wearing them when he should! He behaved so well today.  I'm so proud of him.

Sarah's first Holy Communion Day

Yesterday we celebrated my beautiful niece's first Holy Communion day, we had the most amazing day with our family. Our little Sarah was beautiful,  and we were all so proud of her.

Lauren was so excited to get a new dress and pretty shoes, she couldn't wait for me to take a photo before we left ...

After the ceremony we all gathered in my sister and brother-in-laws house for tea and cake, while Sarah's friends and family visited to wish her well. We got some beautiful photos.

Curraghmore Bluebell Festival

This weekend we went to Waterford for the Bluebell festival in Curraghmore estate in Portlaw.  The weather in Dublin was lovely...

Car selfie!

But on our way down to Waterford it seemed to become worse and worse, and continued that way as the day went on. We eventually had to give up and head home a little wet! Before we gave up the kids managed a few goes on the big helter skelter, which they loved!

The house still looks beautiful in the rain though

That evening Mum and Dad watched the kids so Derek and I could go out to dinner. We were celebrating Derek's birthday which was a few days before!

We had a lovely meal in this beautiful restaurant below, the restaurant has a cellar that is below the city walls. It was so nice there and the food was great, but the company was the best part! Alone time with my hubby!

So who cares about the rain, we all still had fun with our family, and Derek had a nice birthday celebration!

Happy Birthday Derek!
