Father's day 2013

This Sunday we spent a lovely day celebrating Father's day.  We had a relaxing and sleepy Sunday! Dylan and Lauren gave their Daddy a mug and a mouse mat that they had made for him! And he absolutely LOVED them! He had a lie in followed by a lovely cup of coffee in his new mug reading his Sunday paper! We went for a quiet walk in Sandymount, then we visited with Derek's family. We got some nice photos of the kids on the beach... they love the beach!

I didn't get to see my Dad this Father's day because he was away, but I'm sending lots of love to my Daddy bear! A daughter couldn't dream of a better Father, he has been my biggest fan my whole life, and he has adored my every move for the past 30 years. I have always been and will continue to be a Daddy's girl! Happy Father's day to my Dad x

It's important to honour our husbands as Fathers on this day. Derek is a brilliant father and the children love him so much. He is special and I appreciate him, when we had our children I couldn't have asked for a stronger man. Derek was my rock, my protector, and he helped me every step of the way. I am proud that I gave him the two wonderful children that we have, and I am proud of him. Happy Father's day to my husband.
We had a special weekend, I hope Derek enjoyed his day, his two little people love him so much and we are lucky to have him in our lives. ....
We love you.....

Lauren's first play date

Lauren had her very first play date today, look how adorable she is with her little friends. This is her first proper 'friends over' play date. We went to the park, we coloured and we watched movies. My baby girl is growing up so very fast, I can't believe that she is a 'big girl' now! It was lovely to see her have so much fun today!

Here are the three little friends on their way to the park...

Fun in the sun

The weather has been so warm here the past two weeks, we could certainly get used to this! We took the kids out on Saturday for ice-cream at the park, and on Sunday we took them to the beach. They had a really great time, Lauren loved the sand and Dylan really wanted to get in the water, but he said it was just too cold!! Derek braved the cold though! We buried the kids in the sand which they loved! It was really warm and we just relaxed for the whole day! I love nothing more than a lazy Sunday, it was so nice to relax with all of my favourite people on the beach.

Finally a picture with my babies, I had to add the two to prove that they never look/smile at the camera at the same time, so I'm going to have to add double pictures all the time just so I can see both of their beautiful smiles!!

After the beach we had chips and ice-cream and we stayed up late to enjoy the last of the sun! I hope we get a nice stretch of sun after our awful summer last year, It was a really lovely weekend!

Life lately 1.06.13

We've had so much going on around here, trips and play time and staff nights out! We've been having a great week! Dylan was invited to a birthday party last Saturday and he had a brilliant time. We took Lauren to the beach to collect dome shells for her little sand pool. The weather was actually quite nice but looks pretty dull in the pics, Lauren was so happy to have some time with just Mom and Dad. We ran around and played and checked for lovely shells, and just had fun. Dylan had an amazing time at his party! They went out to tea and then they went to see Epic, and Dylan said it was ' absoultely brilliant'

On Sunday night Dylan lost his last eye tooth, he was delighted with himself! He has so many adult teeth now, I don't think he has anymore baby teeth left to fall out. I'm a bit sad about that. He has been looking really grown up recently, he is getting so tall!

On the Saturday night I went out with the girls from work. We went to Fire restaurant and it was amazing, we went for some drinks and dancing after and we had a great night! We have decided on our Au pair and have sorted out when she will arrive, so it has been very busy around here! We are also looking forward to the long weekend next week, we have lots of fun days planned!

Lauren's school induction day

On Friday 27/05/13 we had Lauren's induction day at school as she is starting in September, and It didn't go amazingly well to say the least! She wouldn't really interact, and she didn't want to take part in the playtime in the yard. She is quite shy in new situations and with new people, so I wasn't really that surprised at all. I'm not hyping up school at all and I didn't make a big deal out of her behaviour, I just said nothing. I'm not going to worry about it too much right now as she went into Montessori just fine, so I hope she will surprise me on the first day of school too. Plus the fact that she is going to the same school as Dylan will really help, as she will know he is right there if she needs him.

I got some quick snaps on my phone... The cuteness

The teacher was giving us lots of tips to get them ready for school, some practical that we are already doing. She suggested that we let them play with sand, and get them to put pegs onto card and take them off again for their fine motor skills. So we got her a little padding pool and filled it up with sand, and she couldn't have been happier! She spent hours playing in the garden with the sand and shells!

I really feel this day has come around way too fast! I can hardly believe our baby is going to school in September... I mean HOW did that happen! You really do realise how much you need to cherish them when they are small, as they just grow so very fast.

Commuion Details

So I wanted to compile a little post of the little details from Dylan's communion, I want Dylan to be able to look back on this and see all the little details!

My parent's bought Dylan his communion rosette and medal,  the medal was silver with a gold chalice on the front. My mum had the back engraved with Dylan's name and the date of his communion, it looked great on him.

After the communion mass Dylan's school invited the children and their families to a reception at the school, the parent's association went to great lengths to organise a beautiful buffet for the families. There were fresh cakes and jelly and homemade flapjacks, they even organised goodie bags for the children. It was really nice for all the parents to meet and congratulate the children, it was a very special touch which we all loved. The school even made invitations for all the children to give to their families.

We ordered food from a catering company, and we got a delicious sponge cake, it wasn't very fancy but it was DELICIOUS!

We got him some beautiful balloons for his dinner table, they looked lovely on the tables and gave a really festive feel!

I had gorgeous invitations made, and they came with matching addressed envelops, they were really lovely. Everyone thought they were so beautiful.

He really enjoyed his special day!

We love you Dylan
