First day of school 2012

Today Dylan started his first day back at school. He started in second class today! He's grown so much since last year! We had go buy a whole new uniform this year since he's grown so much!

Here's my little boy this morning....

I'm so proud of him! He promises to work hard and do his best! I know he will be tried so hard at his reading last year that he skipped four levels! He has lots of friends and he really enjoys school (most days) so good luck Dylan for your next year in school. We love you xx

Tall ships festival 2012

On Sunday we had the tall ships visit Dublin. I was working so we couldn't go in until the Sunday. We parked far away and walked for about twenty minutes. We saw the ships, we had some lunch and had cakes and coffee on our way home. The kids had a lovely day! So did Mom and Dad.

I have to say I think Waterford did it better last year!! Not just because it's where I'm from, but i think they held a better festival there!

Here's our kiddies enjoying the day...

Family update 13/08/12

So much has been happening around these parts! We have secured a lovely new family home close by to where we live currently, it is a lovely bright family home. The painters are just finished painting the whole house, and the front door and windows are varnished, and all that awaits is for us to move in and make this house our home.
So the family news recently...

Dylan got his new glasses.....

So did Dad! Derek's glasses were well overdue a change, he had no choice but to buy new ones when his old ones snapped in the centre! We had to get him new lenses too, which are very expensive as his prescription is so strong... I love his new glasses, I'm glad he treated himself to a nice designer pair. This is the picture he sent me on his phone to show me how they looked!

I had my wedding rings re-dipped and cleaned, I'm really happy with how they came out...

We spent some time at the park before I went to work on Friday. I love that we can do this now!

We've been doing this a lot lately, this was the  kiddies last week...

We had some mommy and Dylan time last week, when I took Dylan to the new spiderman movie which was quite good!!

I had some mommy and Lauren time in Starbucks, and some shopping with just the two of us...

We took the kids to Dunlaoghaire for dinner on Friday night, and then afterwards Derek took Dylan to look at the boats while Lauren napped... the weather was amazing...

I really love this photo of my boys together!

The kids got all packed and ready to spend a week with their grandparents in Waterford, so we can get packed and organised. We have so much to do!
We got this picture from my mom of our lil princess enjoying time with her granddad, it's a bit blurry but it makes me smile!

On Sunday night Derek and I finally got a date night to celebrate our anniversary (nearly a month lare) We didn't do anything fancy, we went to dinner at TGI Fridays and then we went to see a movie. It was really nice to have some time together on our own.  It may not have been out of this world fancy, but I had the best company I could wish for.... So I wouldn't have asked for anything more!

So it's been very busy. I'm really looking forward to moving to our new home where we can finally move in all of our own things again. The house is a townhouse and I think it is really lovely. It will suit us really well. I can't wait to get decorating, I have to remind myself that is won't happen all at once and I have to do things bit by bit....

Our photo wall

I LOVE photographs, I have a lot of framed photos throughout the house. I suppose my favourite ones are in the playroom where I have my photo wall. It's probably basic enough and not too fancy, but I love it because it has all of my favourite people there, we have our children and our friends and family. It makes me happy to pop in there and see my family on the wall!!

I think photos are some of the nicest accessories you can have in your home. We are going to be moving house soon and I hope to recreate this wall somewhere else there! I'm so grateful that I have such pretty little people to put in frames.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the lovely photo displays over at kellys korner

Our sixth wedding anniversay

Today Derek and I are married six years. It only feels like  yesterday that we walked down the aisle together. The years have flown by, I love my husband as much today as the day we were married. We have two beautiful children and a really nice life. I mean sure everything isn't always sunshine and roses, but like everything that is worthwhile you have to work at it. I really believe that if you work hard at your marriage then that is the ticket to being happy. I hope we will always be this happy!

This is us on our anniversary, snapped by my lovely sister in law....

On our anniversary night, we were curled up with our two lovely children watching a movie and having a lovely take away meal. I said to Derek, if we are still doing this on our anniversary in twenty years then I will be just as happy. If our children still want to snuggle up with us and enjoy a movie and take away, then we have raised some lovely kids who love to spend time with their parents! We don't need anything fancy! I couldn't ask for more than I have.

Our wedding song was 'amazed' by Lonestar, I wanted to remember the lyrics as we celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary...

 Amazed

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you

It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh it feels like the first time every time
I wanna spend the whole night in your eyes

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Oh, every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

Happy Anniversary my darling husband
I love you

Family Holiday 2012- Part 3

On the last day of our holidays, we went to walk around Westport. We went to the pier to watch the boats and to enjoy the amazing views of Crogh Patrick. I always say it but it's true! we have such beautiful scenery, I guess it's all the rain. The day was a bit dull, but it doesn't take away from how pretty everything looked, and the colours of everything...

I love this photo that Dylan took of his mammy and Daddy, even if we look a bit strange in it!

The views of Crogh Patrick

So the day after our holidays we headed to visit the grandparents, We saw Derek's parents for the afternoon as they live in Dublin... We went to the Dun Laoghaire for Ice cream and the weather was beautiful.

Then we headed down to Waterford to visit my parents, where we stayed for a few days to catch up. We had a really lovely few days relaxing with family. Lauren was particularly happy to see her Grandad Terence...

It was really lovely to take a few days out and enjoy the time with the kids and have some quality time as a family. The time went by too fast... I'm already looking forward to our next holidays!
