We finished off our lovely weekend in grand style with Halloween. Dylan and Lauren had a really great time trick-or-treating. It was Lauren's first year actually going from door to door, last year she only did one or two. She really loved it, she had the biggest smiles as we went around. Dylan of course is a pro! He was delighted, He brought his little friend with him, and they got so many treats! They will be good for sweets for about a year.
I got some really great photos of my little guys...
Of course the only photo Dylan allowed me to take with him came out blurry! and the ones with Lauren have red eyes, but at least I'll have a few to look back on! they've grown a bit since last year I can't believe how fast they grow...
We enjoyed our weekend of fun... Trick- or-treating is so much fun!
We had a really brilliant time at the Samhain festival last night (pronounced sow-in) It was once a pagan ritual, and now it is celebrated more for fun here. This is our second year going- you can see pictures form last yearhere The organisers put on an amazing show. There was a giant spider that came down from the trees, a giant foot amongst the trees, and lots of scary displays. There was smoke and screams and other scary noises. I had my phone and not my camera and the photo quality is really terrible, I'm so disappointed I didn't use my camera. It was great that we got to go around the walk this year, last year we didn't get to go on the walk as the queue was so long. They had fireworks last year, but none this year.
The walk was 2km and it was really well done. Dylan had an absolute blast, he loved every bit and he wasn't scared at all! Lauren sadly spent the walk like this...
Surgically attached to her Daddy's neck! After she was telling everyone all the things she saw and 'loved' ha!!! She was hiding the whole time!!
Even though the photos aren't great quality, I want to look back on them... so here are some of the best bits from the haunted walk!
These are the witch, Sweeney Todd, strung up gingerbread men, the haunted mirror and lots more! This year it wasn't cold at all though! It was so much warmer- probably because we were walking around.
Dylan is so excited to go trick-or-treating tonight he already has his batman face painted on! I hope they have a great night tonight. We are going to meet up with some friends and have a great time!
This week has been busy busy! We practiced our ideas for our Halloween costumes......
Then we carved our pumpkin
On Friday, the kid's had their Halloween dress up day at school... Lauren decided to stick with her original idea of Tinkerbell! and Dylan decided to go with the old classic... Batman!
That evening we decided to scare the house up a bit more... we needed lots more bats and spiders and skeletons.....
My Batman
Yesterday we took Dylan and Lauren to the circus, it was on around the corner which was great as we could walk there. The kids loved it!
(I only had my iphone and so the photographs aren't so clear.. but just to remember)
It was especially brilliant because Derek got called up to take part in one of the acts!
It was hilarious...
as you can see from these happy faces.... they thought it was brilliant... especially Lauren!
Dylan had his first taste of candyfloss... because you can't go to the circus without candyfloss!
Some more happy snaps from the circus...
So we've been busy having a blast this last week! Dylan is on his mid-term break now and he can't wait.... I had a lovely pampering morning yesterday - I got my hair and nails done... so I'm enjoying the mid-term too!
Tonight is the Samhain festival in Marley park and we're really looking forward to it.... Then Halloween on Monday!

It is small, everyone knows your name and it is quaint. We have since moved to Dublin, which is big and cosmopolitan. There is always something on and something new and different to do. It is our new home and we love it here...
Ireland may not be everything you see on the television, It isn't all rolling hills and thatch cottages. We do have them, but we are also a vibrant, intelligent and progressive nation. I am proud to be Irish. I am proud of our heritage, culture and personality....
